While I simmer my cup of cacao to hold space for my heart, I reflect on my morning. After showing up to an alternative medicine event on the wrong date, I felt a bit defeated. But then I remembered the comforting cacao waiting for me at home, and it brought a warm feeling to my face.
As I navigate my place in facilitating spiritual practices in my community I’m finding the importance of maintaining my spiritual practices at home. I’m super grateful for the people who hold space for healing with community events such as sound healing, yoga, meditation, and traditional healing modalities. However, I realize that as important as it is to join community events that facilitate connection with your spirit and community, it’s just as important to hold that space for yourself.
To me, right now, it feels like sitting with a cup of cacao, meditating, connecting with my body on the mat, and pulling cards that connect me to my soul and the universe.
Other times it looks like taking a long walk in my neighborhood, hiking, going to a beach, dancing, and taking pictures.
So if a plan doesn’t pan out or you don’t have time to attend an event, meet yourself with your spiritual practices to ground yourself and connect with your soul and the universe. Remember, you are a spirit.
What are your go-to spiritual practices?
Love,
Jess
